When working on the exhaust system — removing the catalytic converter or replacing the stock exhaust — the bike's electronic management may respond with the check engine light on and, in some cases, suboptimal throttle response. This section brings together the devices developed by Roadsitalia to address these aspects in a targeted way: the Lambda Optimizer + AMC Automatic MIL Clear Kit, OBD2 diagnostic tools and accessories for lambda sensor management.

The Lambda Optimizer + AMC Automatic MIL Clear Kit represents the complete solution for managing the secondary lambda sensor and the MIL warning light on Euro 5+ motorcycles. It combines two independent and complementary modules: the Lambda Optimizer, which connects in series between the secondary lambda sensor — the one positioned after the catalytic converter — and the bike’s original wiring, optimising the signal sent to the ECU and improving throttle smoothness at low and mid rpm; and the AMC Automatic MIL Clear, which connects directly to the diagnostic port and acts exclusively on the MIL warning light, automatically clearing faults and preventing permanent storage in the ECU. This solution is particularly recommended on Euro 5+ motorcycles where the secondary lambda sensor can be highly sensitive and may trigger fault code P0420 even with catalysed systems or, occasionally, on completely stock motorcycles.

For riders who only want to eliminate the check engine light without affecting throttle delivery or engine parameters, the AMC Automatic MIL Clear is also available separately. The device operates at diagnostic level: if the warning light is already on, it is automatically cleared upon connection; should it reactivate in the future, it is erased at the first key off / key on cycle. It does not modify ECU mapping or engine parameters and is compatible with both Euro 5+ diagnostic ports and standard OBD connections.

The OBD2 Bluetooth Diagnostic Kit allows riders to independently read and interpret what the ECU is recording. The kit includes an ELM327 V1.5 module with Bluetooth 4.0 connection and a 3-in-1 adapter cable compatible with Yamaha 3-pin, 4-pin and 6-pin Euro 5+ connectors, covering multiple models with a single kit. Once connected via a smartphone or tablet app — Car Scanner on iOS, Torque on Android or equivalent — it is possible to read and clear DTC fault codes, reset the check engine light and monitor engine parameters in real time: rpm, temperature, lambda sensor voltage, throttle position, ignition timing and many others. It is the right tool for anyone who wants to understand what is happening inside the ECU before taking action, or to verify the result of a modification already carried out.

The lambda sensor extension, available for specific models, is a mechanical accessory that allows the sensor to be correctly repositioned after an exhaust replacement. In certain configurations, an incorrect positioning may alter exhaust gas readings and generate faults even in the absence of real mechanical issues.
