The Testastretta 998 derived from the 999 Superbike, mounted on a trellis frame and surrounded by air instead of fairings: the Monster S4RS represents the most extreme point reached by the Monster family in its classic era. Produced between 2006 and 2008, with 130 HP delivered to the ground through fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and radial Brembo brakes, this naked was – and still is – one of the most visceral Ducati machines ever built. If you are looking for exhausts for Ducati, the S4RS deserves special attention: the dual high-mounted stacked silencer layout is an integral part of its visual and sonic identity.
The silencers listed on this page are designed to replace the two original mufflers on the Monster S4RS Testastretta, while keeping the stock headers and mid-pipes intact. This is not a full exhaust system, but a replacement of the pair of silencers that bolt onto the existing mounting points. Each kit comes complete with fitting hardware to ensure correct installation on the dual stacked side-mount configuration. The mounting points are compatible with the original components, but we always recommend having a qualified mechanic carry out the installation for a precise and secure fit.
Replacing the stock mufflers with a pair of aftermarket silencers brings tangible benefits. The first is weight reduction: the original S4RS mufflers are fairly heavy, and the weight saving – even though limited to the end cans – is noticeable in the bike's overall handling. The second is the exhaust note: the 998 cc Desmodromic V-twin has a naturally deep and distinctive voice, and a pair of silencers with a freer internal design deliver a fuller, more defined sound without altering the engine's behaviour. We are not talking about miraculous power gains, but a perceptible improvement in the exhaust note that makes every twist of the throttle more engaging.

Since only the silencers are being replaced, the S4RS ECU does not normally require any remapping. The upstream section of the exhaust system remains unchanged and the engine continues to operate on its original parameters, so there are no concerns related to warning lights or electronic fault codes.
Each silencer comes with a standard dB killer already fitted. Removal of the dB killer is not officially intended and voids the type approval. For those who want an even quieter sound level, the No-Noise version is available: this is a welded internal filter that further reduces the decibel output without significantly affecting performance.
