Our silencers for the Ducati 748, 916 and 996 are replacement end cans that take the place of the two original mufflers, leaving headers and the rest of the stock system untouched. This is therefore not a full exhaust system but a pair of slip-on silencers engineered to fit the existing mounting points. All three models share the same fitting kit, which makes compatibility seamless across the different displacements. Each pair is supplied with all the hardware required for installation and bolts directly onto the original connections. For a correct and safe fitment, we recommend having the work carried out by a qualified mechanic or trusted workshop, particularly to check torque settings and alignment of the end cans in the underseat position.

The most immediate benefit is the weight saving over the stock silencers, which on these Ducatis were built with cost containment in mind rather than optimisation. Replacing them with a pair of aftermarket end cans also gives the desmodromic L-twin a more defined and fuller exhaust note, bringing out that distinctive L-twin voice that is one of the hallmarks of these motorcycles. The sound is more present and characterful without fundamentally altering engine behaviour. Every silencer is supplied with a standard dB killer already fitted. The dB killer is not officially removable: removing it voids the silencer's type approval. For those who want an even quieter noise level, the No-Noise option is available — a welded internal baffle that further reduces decibel output without significantly affecting performance. The No-Noise version can be selected directly on the product page via the drop-down menu.

Since only the end cans are being replaced, the stock system upstream remains unchanged. This means that ECU remapping or electronic modifications are not normally required. The engine continues to operate on its original parameters, and the silencer integrates into the system without causing any incompatibility.
