The silencers we offer for this model replace only the original end can, keeping the headers and the stock catalytic converter fully intact. This is not a full exhaust system: the kit replaces the OEM muffler, bolting directly onto the original mounting points with no modifications required to the rest of the exhaust. Each silencer is supplied with the fitting kit needed for installation. By choosing the catalysed configuration, the silencer integrates an internal catalytic converter that allows road-legal use in compliance with current regulations. This is a particularly useful option for those who ride the Hypermotard 821 daily and want to maintain vehicle compliance.
Every silencer includes a standard dB killer fitted as standard. Its removal is not officially intended and voids the product's homologation. For those who want an even quieter sound level, on selected models the No-Noise version is available: a welded internal filter that further reduces decibel output without significantly affecting performance. Since only the silencer is being replaced, the Hypermotard 821's ECU does not normally require any mapping changes. The original exhaust system remains intact in its main section, and the aftermarket silencer works under back-pressure conditions compatible with the stock engine management. No additional intervention is needed for normal operation of the motorcycle.
