With the 848, Ducati redesigned its middleweight superbike from scratch, moving away from the classic trellis frame of the 749 in favour of a more compact and modern chassis layout. The 1098 and 1198 followed the same path, sharing the same platform and general architecture while progressively increasing the displacement and power output of the L-twin Desmodromic engine. What all three have in common — beyond the mechanicals — is the exhaust layout: dual silencers in an undertail position, a solution that defines the visual identity of the bike as much as its sound profile. The silencers we offer for the 848, 1098 and 1198 are slip-on units that replace the two original silencers, leaving the headers and stock catalytic converter untouched. This is not a full exhaust system: the upgrade concerns exclusively the pair of end cans. Each kit comes with everything needed for installation — brackets, gaskets, clamps and hardware — and is designed to bolt directly onto the original mounting points with no modifications to the frame or undertail required. Installation is straightforward, but we still recommend having it carried out by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct fastening and precise alignment of both silencers.

The most immediate benefit is weight reduction: the stock end cans on these Ducatis are quite heavy, and replacing them with aftermarket silencers delivers a noticeable weight saving, concentrated in a high area of the bike. The second benefit is sound. The Desmodromic L-twin already has a distinctive voice of its own, and a pair of less restrictive silencers brings out a more open and defined tone, with a more pronounced acoustic response especially in the mid-range. We do not promise performance breakthroughs — this is still a silencer-only replacement — but the overall character of the bike benefits in a way you can clearly perceive.

Before dispatch, we carry out an internal quality check to verify welds, finishes and correct mounting geometry. In each product page you can select the version with an integrated catalytic converter in the silencer body via the dedicated drop-down menu. Choosing the catalysed version allows road-legal use, adding a filtering element directly inside the end can.

Since only the silencers are being replaced, the original catalytic section of the bike stays in place and the electronic management system is not affected. ECU remapping or fuelling adjustments are not normally required: the bike continues to run as normal on its factory parameters.

Each silencer comes with a standard dB killer fitted. The dB killer is not officially removable: removing it voids the product homologation. For those who want an even quieter sound level, the No-Noise version is available, featuring a welded internal filter that further reduces decibel output without drastically affecting performance.
