The Ducati Monster S2R, with its air-cooled 803 cc Desmodue V-twin featuring two valves per cylinder, was all about rideability and mid-range torque. The S4R raised the bar with the liquid-cooled 996 cc Desmoquattro four-valve engine, producing 113 horsepower and delivering a decidedly sportier temperament. Both shared the steel trellis frame, single-sided swingarm and that distinctive exhaust layout with two stacked silencers on the right side that became a hallmark of the series. A striking arrangement that still makes these Monsters instantly recognisable today. Roadsitalia silencers for the Monster S2R and S4R are sold as a pair and replace exclusively the two original end cans. The headers and the rest of the stock exhaust system remain in place: the upgrade only concerns the final section of the exhaust. Each pair comes complete with a fitting kit, connectors, springs, brackets and everything needed for installation on the original mounting points, with no modifications required to the frame or existing pipework. For the best results and correct tightening of all components, we recommend having the installation carried out by a qualified mechanic with Ducati experience.

The most noticeable benefit after replacing the end cans is the weight saving. The original silencers on the SR series, especially the factory catalysed versions, are quite heavy, and a pair of aftermarket silencers provides a noticeable reduction in weight high up on the bike, with tangible benefits in terms of perceived handling. The exhaust note changes distinctly: the Ducati V-twin gains a more open and defined voice, with that irregular firing pulse typical of the desmodromic V-twin becoming more pronounced both on acceleration and on the overrun. The result is a more characterful and engaging sound, without being excessive for road use.

Every silencer is supplied with a standard dB killer fitted, which is required for road-legal homologation valid throughout Europe and Switzerland. The dB killer is not officially removable: its removal voids the product's homologation. For those who prefer an even quieter setup, the No-Noise version is available — a welded internal baffle that further reduces the noise level without significantly affecting engine behaviour. Since only the silencers are being replaced, the motorcycle's ECU does not normally require any remapping. The engine's operating parameters remain at factory settings and no electronic issues arise from the installation.
