The Monster 695, produced from 2006 to 2008, falls under Euro 3 regulations and comes with a catalytic converter from the factory: for this version, choosing the catalysed variant is the correct approach to maintain road-legal compliance. For the intermediate models — Monster 620, 800 and 1000 produced between 2002 and 2005 — the situation varies: some units have a catalytic converter, others do not, depending on the exact year and the Euro homologation shown on the registration document. When in doubt, the reference is always your vehicle's registration certificate. Each silencer comes with a standard dB killer fitted as standard. Its removal is not officially intended and would void the noise homologation. Since only the end cans are being replaced, the motorcycle's ECU does not normally require any remapping. The fuelling system adapts to the new component without generating faults, and no modifications to the engine management are needed. This applies particularly to the older models in the range, which use simpler injection systems or, in the case of the very first Monster 600 and 900 units, still run on carburettors.
