In 2021 the Versys 650 takes an important step: the 649cc parallel-twin engine is updated to Euro 5 homologation, without touching the proven mechanics that had built its reputation. A year later, in 2022, a more substantial update arrives: a completely redesigned fairing with dual LED headlights, a 4.3" TFT display, two-level traction control and a slipper clutch. The bike changes its face and equipment while keeping the same steel trellis frame, the same 41mm Showa upside-down fork and that ability to adapt to everything without excelling at anything specific — which for many is exactly the point. The systems in this category are full exhaust systems: they replace the entire gas path from the engine outlet to the final muffler, headers included. This is not about adding a silencer to what is already there — everything is removed and reassembled from scratch. The fitting kit is included and the mounting points are compatible with the original geometry of the bike. The under-engine position with lateral outlet makes the operation more demanding than on a bike with a high-mount exhaust: we recommend entrusting the work to a qualified mechanic to avoid problems during installation.

Choosing the catalysed version results in no delivery issues or warning lights: the ECU operates within expected parameters and the bike behaves consistently from the very first rides. Those who opt for the non-catalysed version should be aware that power delivery may not be optimal and that a ECU remap will likely be necessary to get the best out of the system. The non-catalysed version is intended for track use or contexts where road compliance is not required, within the limits permitted by local regulations.
The dB killer is fitted as standard on all systems to ensure acoustic compliance. Its removal is not officially permitted without voiding the homologation. For those who prefer to reduce the sound level further, the No-Noise version is available: an internally welded filter that cuts decibels more significantly without meaningfully compromising the performance of the system. After installation, the Versys 650's ECU normally goes through a self-learning phase. Minor irregularities in power delivery during the first rides are a physiological process that resolves on its own.
