The front wheel grows from 14 to 15 inches, the fork increases from 41 to 43mm in diameter, the wheelbase extends by 5mm to 1,580mm: a redesigned chassis that improves stability and riding precision. Weight drops to 203 kg, five less than the previous generation, almost entirely thanks to the new frame. The 499cc twin receives a new injection mapping, revised combustion chambers and a redesigned exhaust system: power remains substantially unchanged at 43.5 HP, but delivery becomes smoother and more homogeneous. The original T-Max 500 exhaust is designed as an inseparable unit that does not allow the replacement of the silencer alone. Our system replaces the entire exhaust path maintaining compatibility with the original mounting points without requiring structural modifications. The silencer is in a lateral position, as on the original, but with a completely different aesthetic result: the sporting shape, materials and finishes of our terminals visually transform one of the most characterising elements of the scooter — the one that more than any other communicates the character of its rider. Choosing the catalysed version results in no fuelling issues or need for remapping: the ECU manages the new exhaust system without any additional intervention. Those who opt for the non-catalysed version should consider that fuelling may not be optimal and that a remap will likely be necessary to get the best out of the exhaust system. The non-catalysed version is reserved for track use or contexts where road compliance is not required, within the limits permitted by local regulations.

The T-Max 500 2008-2011 already has a distinctive and deep sound as standard — that low and rounded tone that sets it clearly apart from conventional scooters — but the original exhaust system, dimensioned to meet Euro 3 standards, limits its sonic expressiveness. A sports exhaust liberates that sound, making it fuller and more defined especially in the everyday riding range between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm, where the twin expresses its best torque. On the weight front, further reducing the weight of a scooter that had already shed five kilograms with the new aluminium frame has a direct effect on the centre of gravity: every kilogram eliminated from a high lateral area improves agility in low-speed manoeuvres — exactly the context in which the T-Max is used most.

The dB killer is included as standard. It is not officially removable: its removal invalidates the homologation.
