The T-Max 500 covered over eleven years of production across two distinct generations: the first from 2001 to 2007, with the transition from carburettors to fuel injection and the shift from Euro 1 to Euro 2; the second from 2008 to 2011, with a completely new aluminium frame, 15-inch front wheel and Euro 3 homologation. This category brings together the two generations of the T-Max 500: the 2001-2007 version, which encompasses the original carburetted Euro 1 series and the second fuel-injected Euro 2 series introduced in 2004, and the 2008-2011 version, homologated to Euro 3, with aluminium frame, 15-inch front wheel and 43mm fork. The two generations differ in their original exhaust system, which is why we have developed and homologated separate solutions for each production interval. For both generations we offer a full exhaust system that replaces the entire original exhaust, from the engine outlet to the terminal. The original T-Max 500 exhaust is designed as an inseparable unit that does not allow the silencer alone to be replaced. Our system replaces the entire exhaust path maintaining compatibility with the original mounting points without requiring structural modifications. The silencer is single, in a lateral position as on the original, but with a completely different aesthetic result: the sporting shape, materials and finishes of our terminals visually transform one of the most characterising elements of the scooter — the one that more than any other communicates the character of its rider. The mounting kit is included in the supply. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct and lasting fitment.

Compared to the stock exhaust, the main benefits involve weight reduction, improved sound character and a smoother, more direct throttle response. The T-Max twin already has a deep and rounded voice as standard that sets it clearly apart from conventional scooters: a sports exhaust liberates it and makes it fuller and more defined, especially in the everyday riding range where torque and thrust express themselves best. On the weight front, reducing the weight of the high lateral area of the scooter lowers the centre of gravity and improves agility in low-speed manoeuvres — exactly the context in which the T-Max is used most.

All available models are homologated for use on public roads throughout Europe and Switzerland, with the homologation certificate included in the supply. The catalytic converter is available as a selectable option on the product page: to maintain full road compliance it is necessary to choose the catalysed version. Choosing the catalysed version results in no fuelling issues or need for remapping or recarburetting: the ECU manages the new exhaust system without any additional intervention, although a short adaptation period during the first rides is normal. Those who choose the non-catalysed version should consider that fuelling may not be optimal and that a remap or recarburetting will likely be necessary to get the best out of the exhaust system. The non-catalysed version is reserved for track use or contexts where road compliance is not required, within the limits permitted by local regulations.
