The steel tube diamond frame, the telescopic fork and the dual 298mm front discs hold together a project that puts practicality first without giving up character. The dual under-seat exhaust, one of the most recognisable styling signatures of this bike and a direct visual nod to the MT-01, is particularly well-suited to a sports upgrade: the visual volume of two side-by-side mufflers is one of the details that most defines the overall look of the machine. The products in this category are sports exhausts designed to replace the original mufflers on the MT-03 660. The work concerns the two under-seat end cans only: the original headers and the front section of the exhaust system remain in place. Fitting is carried out on the bike's original mounting points with no special adapters required, and each exhaust set is supplied with a complete fitting kit. To ensure a proper seal and correct alignment on both sides, we recommend having the installation carried out by a qualified mechanic.
The weight saving over the pair of stock mufflers is noticeable across the whole bike. In terms of sound, the MT-03's single-cylinder — already direct and characterful in standard form — gains a more defined and rounded note with sports exhausts, with a fuller voice at mid revs that works well for both city riding and mixed roads. In terms of behaviour, a different management of exhaust gas flow can favour a more linear throttle response and, in certain riding conditions, a greater feeling of engine readiness.
The MT-03 660 is fitted as standard with a catalytic converter in the section replaced by the sports exhaust. For this reason we offer both versions: with an integrated catalytic converter, to maintain consistency with the original system, and without, for those who prefer a lighter solution. Every sports exhaust set is supplied with a standard dB killer included in both mufflers. Our exhausts are homologated for road use throughout Europe and Switzerland: the homologation certificate is included and is valid with both dB killers fitted. Removing the dB killers invalidates the product's homologation. For those who want to reduce the sound level further, the No-Noise option is available, with an internally welded filter applied to both mufflers, providing a perceptible reduction in decibels without significantly affecting the exhausts' overall behaviour. As this involves replacing only the end cans on a fuel-injected bike like the MT-03 660, no ECU remapping or modifications to the engine management are normally required. The engine management adapts to the new configuration without any particular electronic issues.
