The Yamaha MT-07 2021-2024 is the generation of technological maturity. After two generations in which the CP2 engine and frame had remained substantially unchanged, 2021 brings the first deep mechanical update: the 689cc twin is homologated to Euro 5 with a new air intake duct, a revised injection system, a redesigned 2-in-1 exhaust and a new ECU. Power remains unchanged, but delivery becomes smoother and more refined throughout the entire rev range. On the chassis front, the front discs grow from 282 to 298mm for more powerful and modulable braking. The aesthetics follow in the footsteps of the MT-09 with a new slimmer lenticular LED headlight, LED turn signals and sharper lateral air intakes. The negative LCD dashboard of 2021 evolves into a colour TFT display from 2023, with smartphone connectivity. All this without giving up the essence that made the MT-07 great: no ride-by-wire, no traction control, no selectable riding modes — the connection between rider and motorcycle remains direct and without electronic filters, exactly as in the previous generations. What we offer for the MT-07 2021-2024 is a full exhaust system that replaces the entire original exhaust, from the collector to the terminal. The original MT-07 exhaust is designed as an inseparable unit that does not allow replacement of the silencer alone: our system replaces the entire exhaust path maintaining compatibility with the original mounting points without requiring structural modifications. The silencer is positioned underbelly, a solution that enhances the line of the motorcycle by freeing up the sides and accentuating the sporting profile of the naked. The mounting kit is included in the supply. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct and lasting fitment.

All models in this category are approved for use on public roads throughout Europe and Switzerland with Euro 5 certification: the homologation certificate is included in the supply. The catalytic converter is available as an option in the product page drop-down menu: to maintain full road compliance it is necessary to choose the catalysed version. Choosing the catalysed version results in no fuelling issues or need for remapping: the ECU manages the new exhaust system without any additional intervention, although a short adaptation period during the first rides is normal. Those who opt for the non-catalysed version should consider that fuelling may not be optimal and that a remap will likely be necessary to get the best out of the exhaust system. The non-catalysed version is reserved for track use or contexts where road compliance is not required, within the limits permitted by local regulations.

On this updated Euro 5 CP2 the benefits of a full exhaust system are expressed on a mechanically more refined base compared to previous generations. The new standard 2-in-1 exhaust and the revised intake duct had already improved the smoothness of delivery: a complete sports exhaust builds on this work and takes it further, freeing the sound of the 270° crankshaft offset from the restrictions imposed by Euro 5 regulations and making the throttle response even more responsive and defined. The CP2 in this version expresses its best torque between 3,500 and 6,500 rpm — a wide range that covers exactly everyday road use, from low revs exiting a corner to mid-range on a straight — and it is precisely in this interval that a sports exhaust makes the most concrete difference. On the weight front, reducing the underbelly area on a motorcycle without active electronics like the MT-07 2021-2024 has a direct and unmediated effect on dynamic behaviour: less mass in that position means a lower centre of gravity, less inertia in direction changes and greater communicativeness in every riding condition.

Each system is handcrafted in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo, to order. This is not mass production: every part is machined and assembled in-house, with direct quality control at every stage. Direct sales from the manufacturer eliminate intermediaries and result in a more transparent relationship both on the product and on after-sales support.

The dB killer is included as standard. It is not officially removable: its removal invalidates the homologation. For those who want further noise reduction, the No-Noise dB killer is available, featuring a welded internal filter that further reduces decibels without significantly affecting performance.
