The Yamaha MT-07 2017-2020 is the generation of practical maturity. The 689cc CP2 engine with 270° crankshaft offset remained substantially unchanged — 75 HP, that muscular mid-range torque, the unmistakable rhythmic and irregular sound — but everything around it was improved with purpose. The fork received a more precise setup better suited to sustained speeds. The seat was redesigned with a larger surface to provide greater freedom of movement for both rider and passenger. ABS, optional on the first series, became standard. The LED headlight redesigned the front end with a more aggressive and modern expression. Homologation is Euro 4. What we offer for the MT-07 2017-2020 is a full exhaust system that replaces the entire original exhaust, from the collector to the terminal. The original MT-07 exhaust is designed as an inseparable unit that does not allow replacement of the silencer alone: our system replaces the entire exhaust path maintaining compatibility with the original mounting points without requiring structural modifications. The silencer is positioned underbelly, a solution that enhances the line of the motorcycle by freeing up the sides and accentuating the sporting profile of the naked. The mounting kit is included in the supply. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct and lasting fitment.

All models in this category are approved for use on public roads throughout Europe and Switzerland with Euro 4 certification: the homologation certificate is included in the supply. The catalytic converter is available as an option in the product page drop-down menu: to maintain full road compliance it is necessary to choose the catalysed version. Choosing the catalysed version results in no fuelling issues or need for remapping: the ECU manages the new exhaust system without any additional intervention, although a short adaptation period during the first rides is normal. Those who opt for the non-catalysed version should consider that fuelling may not be optimal and that a remap will likely be necessary to get the best out of the exhaust system. The non-catalysed version is reserved for track use or contexts where road compliance is not required, within the limits permitted by local regulations.

On this Euro 4 version of the CP2 the benefits of a full exhaust system build on the improvements Yamaha had already made to the chassis. The sound of the 270° crankshaft offset remained identical to the first series — that irregular and muscular rhythm that immediately distinguishes the MT-07 from any other conventional parallel twin — but the original exhaust system, redesigned to meet Euro 4 standards, is more restrictive than that of the previous generation. A sports exhaust liberates it with even greater effect, making the CP2 more expressive and present especially in the range between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm where the best torque is expressed. On the weight front, reducing the underbelly area lowers mass in a position that directly influences dynamic behaviour: on a naked already oriented towards lightness like the MT-07 2017-2020, this translates into an even more responsive feel and more direct feedback in every riding condition.

Each system is handcrafted in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo, to order. This is not mass production: every part is machined and assembled in-house, with direct quality control at every stage. The dB killer is included as standard. It is not officially removable: its removal invalidates the homologation. For those who want further noise reduction, the No-Noise dB killer is available, featuring a welded internal filter that further reduces decibels without significantly affecting performance.
