The silencers in this category are designed to replace the original muffler on the V-Strom 650, leaving the headers and the entire upstream section of the exhaust system unchanged. This is not a full exhaust system: the sports silencer connects directly to the original mounting points, with no structural modifications required. Each kit includes all the hardware needed for a clean and secure installation. We recommend having a qualified mechanic carry out the fitting to ensure correct positioning and a proper seal on the exhaust outlet.
The most immediate benefit is weight reduction: the sports silencer is significantly lighter than the standard muffler, with a positive effect on unsprung mass and overall weight. Every silencer is supplied with a standard dB killer included. Removal of the dB killer is not supported for road-legal use: removing it voids the homologation and is not an officially endorsed modification. For those seeking a further reduction in noise levels — useful in urban environments or where stricter sound limits apply — the No-Noise option is available, a welded internal filter that reduces decibels without significantly affecting the other characteristics of the silencer.
