The silencers in this category are sports silencers designed to replace the single original lateral muffler on the V-Strom 1000, leaving the headers and the entire upstream section of the exhaust system unchanged. This is a single silencer in a lateral position, replicating the stock configuration and maintaining the same installation layout. This is not a full exhaust system: the connection is made directly to the original mounting points, with no structural modifications required to the rest of the exhaust. Each kit includes all the hardware needed for a correct and secure installation. To ensure optimal sealing and positioning, we recommend having the work carried out by a qualified mechanic.
The most direct benefit is weight reduction: the sports silencer is significantly lighter than the original muffler, with a positive impact on overall mass. In terms of sound, the result is a fuller, more characterful tone compared to stock — the one-litre V-twin already has a naturally assertive exhaust note, and a well-engineered aftermarket silencer can bring that out in a balanced way. Every silencer is supplied with a standard dB killer included. Removing the dB killer voids the homologation and is not an officially supported modification. For those who need a further reduction in noise levels — useful in urban environments or where specific acoustic limits apply — the No-Noise option is available: a welded internal filter that reduces decibels without significantly affecting the overall characteristics of the silencer. As this is a silencer-only replacement, the V-Strom 1000's ECU does not normally require any remapping: the engine management system adapts to the change without the need for specific electronic intervention. No modifications to sensors or existing control systems are required for installation.
