Roadsitalia Exhaust
The LC8 1301 cc engine in the 1290 Super Duke R is a deliberate design choice: a 75° V-twin, oversized, delivering strong and uncompromising torque from low revs. KTM built a naked bike around this powerplant for riders who don't look for compromises, with a steel tubular frame, aggressive geometry and a character that leaves no one indifferent. A 2014-2016 motorcycle that still holds a well-defined technical personality today, fully within the Euro 3 era.
The sports exhausts designed by Roadsitalia for the 1290 Super Duke 2014-2016 are sports silencers designed to replace the original muffler, keeping the standard headers and fittings. This is not a full exhaust system: they act exclusively on the lateral silencer, compatible with the original mounting points and supplied complete with a fitting kit. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic for the best result.
The most immediate benefit is weight reduction: the sports silencer reduces weight at the rear of the bike, with a noticeable impact on overall agility. The exhaust note improves in terms of definition and body — the LC8 has a naturally raw and distinctive voice, and a proper exhaust terminal enhances it without transforming it. In some configurations, flow management can favour a more linear throttle response and a feeling of greater readiness at mid-range revs, where this engine already delivers a lot.
We manufacture every sports exhaust in our workshop with handcrafted manufacturing in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo. Each piece is made to order and subjected to internal quality control before shipping. We operate as direct from the manufacturer, without intermediaries: a choice that allows us to maintain high construction standards and a direct relationship with our customers.
Every silencer includes the dB killer as standard, mounted internally. Removal of the dB killer invalidates the homologation and is not officially permitted for road use.
As this is a replacement of the silencer only, the original ECU does not normally require any mapping modifications. The engine management system continues to work on the original parameters without the need for additional electronic interventions.
