The LC8 942 cc engine is one of those V-twin units that divides opinions but never goes unnoticed. A 75° architecture, DOHC valve timing, built to withstand intensive use both on and off road: the 950 Adventure, 950 SM and 950 Supermoto Enduro share this substantial mechanical platform, each declined with different geometries and vocations. The silencers in this category are sport silencers designed to replace the original mufflers — right and left — in the dual lateral configuration typical of these models. This is not a full exhaust system: the headers and mid-section remain standard, while our work focuses on the end cans, which have the most direct impact on aesthetics, weight and the character of the exhaust note. Fitting is carried out on the original mounting points, and a fixing kit is included. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic, especially to ensure correct sealing and optimal positioning of both silencers.
The most immediate benefit is weight reduction: the original end cans on these models are not light, and replacing them with a dual sport silencer delivers a meaningful reduction in unsprung mass, also improving weight distribution. In terms of sound, the result is a fuller, more defined tone that enhances the low-to-mid range torque characteristic of the LC8, without altering its fundamental character. The improved exhaust flow management can contribute to a more linear throttle response, with a greater sense of readiness especially during partial throttle riding — the condition in which these models are most frequently ridden, both on road and on mixed terrain.

As the catalytic converter version is available, you can choose at the time of ordering — via the drop-down menu on the product page — whether to go for the catalysed configuration, suitable for road use in compliance with current regulations, or for the non-catalysed version. The choice depends on your intended use and personal situation: consider it carefully before proceeding.
Every silencer comes with a standard dB killer included. Its removal is not officially supported: removing it voids the homologation and renders the end can non-compliant for road use. If you need a further reduction in noise level — for circuits with strict limits or for use in specific contexts — the No-Noise option is available, an internally welded baffle that significantly lowers the decibel output without meaningfully compromising performance. This option is also selectable from the drop-down menu.
As this is a replacement of the silencer only, the standard ECU does not normally require any remapping. The engine management system progressively adapts to the new exhaust flow conditions, without the need for additional electronic intervention. No cause for concern: this is a straightforward replacement well within the normal parameters for these engines.
