The LC8 1301 cc engine of the 1290 Super Adventure was never built for compromise. A 75° V-twin, generous power delivery from low revs, massive torque available across an extremely wide operating range: the starting point is already remarkable, and the exhaust system plays an important role in defining how that character expresses itself on the road. Ours is a sports silencer designed to replace the original muffler while keeping the headers and the front section of the stock exhaust system intact. This is not a full exhaust system: the intervention is targeted at the lateral silencer, the component that directly affects sound perception, unsprung weight, and the overall aesthetics of the bike. Fitment is onto the original mounting points, with the necessary hardware included in the package. We still recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure proper sealing and alignment.
The most immediate benefit is weight reduction: the original muffler on the 1290 Super Adventure is not exactly lightweight, and replacing it with our sports exhaust delivers a noticeable weight saving on a bike that already manages significant mass. The exhaust note becomes fuller and more defined, giving the V-twin a voice that better reflects its character — without exaggeration, but with an acoustic presence more in line with the bike's personality. In terms of response, smoother exhaust flow management can favour a feeling of greater responsiveness in the mid-range and a more linear throttle response, particularly in the mixed riding conditions typical of this type of use.

A dB killer is included as standard with every silencer. It should be noted that its removal invalidates the homologation and is not an officially supported procedure. For those requiring additional sound reduction — for example for urban use or to comply with local regulations — the No-Noise option is available, an internally welded insert that further lowers the sound level without significantly affecting overall performance. As this is a silencer-only replacement, the bike's engine management system does not normally require any remapping. The ECU of the 1290 Super Adventure is sufficiently adaptive to handle the change without additional intervention, and no exhaust-related fault codes are generated.
