The silencers we offer for the Hornet 900 (2002–2006) are end-can mufflers that replace the two originals mounted in a high undertail position, one on each side. This is not a full exhaust system: the original headers remain in place, as does the rest of the exhaust line upstream. Our work concerns exclusively the final end cans, with fittings sized for direct compatibility with the standard system. Each kit includes the hardware and components required for installation. For a correct and lasting result, we recommend the work be carried out by a qualified mechanic, particularly for correct torque settings and bracket alignment.

Replacing the original end cans with Roadsitalia units delivers two concrete benefits: a real weight reduction compared to the standard mufflers, and a more defined and fuller sound character, more in keeping with the engine's personality. The 900's inline four already has an interesting voice; with the right silencer that voice becomes more distinctive, without becoming artificial. Each silencer comes fitted with a standard dB killer, which reduces the sound level to limits compatible with road use. Removing the dB killer is technically possible but invalidates the product's homologation: we state this clearly to avoid any misunderstanding. If you prefer an even quieter solution, the No-Noise option is available, with a welded internal filter that further reduces sound emissions without significantly penalising the silencer's behaviour. Since this is a replacement of the end can only, the original ECU does not normally require any remapping. The Hornet 900, being a Euro 2 platform with a relatively straightforward fuel injection management system, adapts without issue to the change in back pressure introduced by the new silencer. No additional electronic interventions are expected.
