The inline four-cylinder engine of the first-generation CBR 1000 RR was, even at the time of its launch, one of the most refined powerplants in the supersport street segment. Honda had worked on every detail of the chassis and engine architecture to get as close as possible to the geometry of competition-derived machines, and the result was a motorcycle that demanded respect and riding technique, not a generic commuter bike.
What we offer for this version is a replacement silencer in an undertail position, designed to integrate onto the original mounting point without modifying the headers or intermediate connections. This is not a full exhaust system: the rest of the exhaust line remains the stock one. The silencer replaces the original end can, with the mounting kit included in the package. We always recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure proper sealing and correct positioning.
The main gain is in overall weight reduction compared to the standard end can, which on this generation is not particularly compact. The exhaust note improves in definition and fullness, with a character more in keeping with the sporting nature of the Honda four-cylinder. No promises of power increases: the real benefits are weight and sound, and they are already enough to justify the swap for anyone who uses the bike on track or simply wants to get rid of that anonymous end can.
We manufacture every exhaust in our workshop with handcrafted manufacturing in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo. Each piece is made to order and undergoes internal quality control before shipping. We work direct from the manufacturer, which means there are no intermediaries between the builder and the end customer.
The dB killer is included as standard. Its removal is not officially supported and results in the loss of homologation. For those who want to further reduce sound emissions — for example for track use with decibel restrictions — the No-Noise option is available, featuring a welded internal filter, selectable directly on the product page.
As this is a replacement of the end silencer only, the ECU does not normally require remapping. The fuel injection system of the CBR 1000 RR of this generation handles the variation at the end can without issue. No electronic modifications needed under standard operating conditions.
