The sports silencer we offer for the ER-6f 2005-2011 is designed to replace the original muffler, leaving the rest of the exhaust system unchanged — original headers and connections remain in place. It mounts onto the original fittings without structural modifications to the motorcycle, and every kit comes complete with everything needed for installation. We nonetheless recommend entrusting the job to a qualified mechanic to ensure correct and safe fitting.
The most immediate gain over the stock muffler is weight: the ER-6f's original silencer is not particularly light, and replacing it with our sports exhaust results in a tangible weight reduction, noticeable both on the scales and in the saddle. On the sound side, the tone becomes fuller and more defined, with a more present voice especially at mid and high revs, without altering the character of the parallel twin. In terms of engine response, optimised flow management can contribute to a more linear power delivery and a feeling of greater throttle response sharpness under certain riding conditions.

For the ER-6f, the version with a catalytic converter is available, selectable directly from the drop-down menu on the product page. The catalysed version allows road use in compliance with current regulations. If instead you are looking for a solution more oriented towards track use or a more open sound, you can opt for the version without a catalytic converter.
Every silencer comes with a standard dB killer included. It is worth noting that removing the dB killer invalidates the product's homologation and is not officially supported. For those looking for an even more acoustically restrained solution — useful in certain contexts or for daily commuting — the No-Noise option is available, an internally welded filter that further reduces decibels without significantly affecting the characteristics of the exhaust silencer.
As this is a replacement of the silencer only, the ER-6f's ECU does not normally require any remapping: the original system remains in its standard configuration, and the modification is contained enough not to cause any electronic issues. No cause for concern on this front.
