All silencers come with a standard dB killer fitted as standard. This is an internal insert that regulates the noise level and helps meet the acoustic limits required for type approval. Removal of the dB killer is not officially intended and voids the product's homologation. For those seeking an even quieter level, on selected models the No-Noise version is available: a welded internal baffle that further reduces decibel output without significantly affecting performance. Since only the end can is being replaced, ECU remapping is not normally required. The engine management electronics on the R 1200 GS continue to operate with their original parameters, and the fuel injection system adapts automatically to operating conditions.
