Db-Killer

The dB killer is the component that controls the sound attenuation of the sports exhaust. It is inserted inside the silencer at the outermost end, where it is secured by a welded rivet: tampering with or removing it may result in the invalidation of the exhaust's homologation. All Roadsitalia exhausts are supplied with a dB killer already included: this section is for those who need an additional unit, a replacement due to wear or damage, or a different version from the one already installed. The dB killers available in this category are compatible with Roadsitalia silencers.

The range is divided into two main families based on the destination silencer. The first is dedicated to the Special, Doublefire, Thunder, Projsix and Power models; the second to the Oval, Round and Short models. Before purchasing, check which family corresponds to your silencer: dB killers are not interchangeable between the two series. If in doubt, contact us before ordering.

Within each family, three types are available. The standard 6-hole dB killer has six openings and offers less sound attenuation than the 4-hole model. The 4-hole dB killer — available for the Special/Doublefire/Thunder/Projsix/Power family — has four openings and offers greater sound attenuation than the 6-hole model: suitable for those with specific noise containment requirements or who need to meet stricter limits. The No-Noise dB killer is available in both the 6-hole and 4-hole version, and in both cases adds an internal metal mesh that further increases sound attenuation compared to the corresponding standard model: it is the equivalent of the No-Noise option selectable when ordering a new exhaust, useful for those who want to add it later or replace an existing one.

The Extreme dB killer — available for the Special/Doublefire/Thunder/Projsix/Power family — follows the opposite logic: an initial and final diameter of 47.5 mm with no internal restrictions, resulting in minimal sound attenuation compared to the other models. It is designed for those who want to hear the engine and the true sound of the silencer while still having a dB killer physically installed. It is not road-homologated: its use invalidates the exhaust's homologation.

All models are available both individually and in pairs, for those fitting twin exhausts or who want a spare unit. Pair versions are technically identical to the single.
