Exhausts Yamaha R7 2026-

Mufflers, silencers and complete sport exhausts Yamaha R7 2026-

For 2026 Yamaha has given the R7 a thorough update, the first real one since its 2021 debut. At its heart is still the 689cc CP2 parallel twin with 270° crossplane firing order, now Euro 5+ homologated, delivering 72.4 hp at 8,750 rpm and 68 Nm at 6,500 rpm: the same full and predictable torque that made the R7 one of the easiest sports bikes to ride fast. Everything else has changed. The 2026 R7 adopts a ride-by-wire throttle and an R1-derived six-axis IMU, which manages lean-sensitive traction control, slide control, wheelie control, engine brake management, brake control and launch control. A quickshifter for both upshifts and downshifts, cruise control, riding modes and a connected TFT dashboard are also standard. The chassis has been revised: stiffer steel frame, new swingarm with a higher pivot and a modified shock linkage, fully adjustable 41mm KYB fork, lighter spin-forged aluminium wheels, slipper clutch and twin 298mm front discs with four-piston radial calipers, for around 189 kg ready to ride. The first-generation R7 has its own page: exhausts for Yamaha R7 2021-2025. All our proposals for the Iwata brand are in the section dedicated to Yamaha exhausts.

What we offer for the 2026 R7 is a full exhaust system that replaces the entire original exhaust, from the collector to the terminal. The original R7 exhaust is designed as an inseparable unit that does not allow replacement of the silencer alone: our system replaces the entire exhaust path while maintaining compatibility with the original mounting points, without requiring structural modifications. The silencer is positioned underbelly with lateral exit, following the original configuration that contributes to mass centralisation and clean lines beneath the fairing. The mounting kit is included in the supply. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct and lasting fitment.

For the 2026 R7, the catalytic converter is available as an option that can be selected directly from the drop-down menu on each product page. The catalysed version allows road-legal use in compliance with current regulations. Removal of the catalytic converter is reserved exclusively for situations where this is permitted by law, such as track use or closed-circuit competition.

The most important difference compared to the 2021-2025 R7 concerns Euro 5+ homologation, and it deserves a specific explanation for those choosing a full exhaust system. The first-generation R7 works with a single lambda sensor, while the 2026 R7 has two: the secondary lambda sensor sits downstream of the original catalytic converter, and its job is to monitor its efficiency and relay data to the ECU. Replacing the entire exhaust system also removes the original catalytic section, and it is very likely that the ECU will log an anomaly and generate the P0420 fault code. In practical terms, this results in the MIL warning light coming on, the amber check engine light on the dashboard. This is not a mechanical fault or a genuine engine malfunction: it is simply the ECU detecting a change in the operating parameters of the catalytic converter, which is now absent or replaced.

The solutions to manage this are in the ECUs, OBD2 Diagnostics and Lambda Kits section of the Roadsitalia catalogue. The Lambda Optimizer + AMC Automatic MIL Clear Kit combines two dedicated modules: the Lambda Optimizer connects in series between the second sensor and the original wiring, optimising fuelling at low and mid revs, while the AMC Automatic MIL Clear connects to the OBD diagnostic port and clears the MIL warning light automatically: plug & play, no permanent modifications. The AMC Automatic MIL Clear is also available separately and acts exclusively on the MIL warning light, without affecting engine performance or parameters: the simplest solution for those who just want to eliminate the warning light. The OBD2 Diagnostic Kit connects to the motorcycle's diagnostic port and allows fault codes to be read in real time, cleared, and ECU parameters to be monitored via smartphone. Our testing on Euro 5+ models has shown that the second lambda sensor on these engines is particularly sensitive and sometimes unpredictable: sporadically, we have recorded MIL warning light activations even on homologated and catalysed exhausts, and even on completely standard motorcycles after a simple wash. Those who want complete peace of mind in every situation may therefore wish to consider these kits regardless of their choice of catalytic converter. The non-catalysed version is in any case reserved for track or private road use, within the limits permitted by local regulations.

On a sports bike like the R7, a full exhaust system makes itself felt immediately. The crossplane CP2 is already one of the most communicative engines in its category as standard, and with a sports exhaust its mid-range torque becomes even more present and defined. The 270° twin sound takes on a richer and more engaging timbre, with a voice that grows progressively with the revs and accompanies the rider from the exit of tight corners to the straight, and the two-way quickshifter makes every gear change even fuller. The weight reduction compared to the original exhaust lightens the motorcycle in an area that on a faired sports bike has a direct bearing on agility: less mass underbelly means a lower centre of gravity, faster direction changes and an even more immediate response to inputs, on mixed roads as on track.

Every system is handcrafted in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo, made to order. This is not mass production: every part is machined and assembled in-house, with direct quality control at every stage. Direct sales from the manufacturer eliminate intermediaries and result in a more transparent relationship both on the product and on after-sales support.

The dB killer is included as standard. It is not officially removable: its removal invalidates the homologation. For those who require further noise reduction, the No-Noise dB killer is available, featuring an internally welded filter that further reduces decibels without significantly affecting performance. This option is also selectable in the product page drop-down menu.

After fitting a full exhaust system, it is normal for the R7's ECU to go through an adaptation phase: the engine management system needs to acquire new operating parameters related to the different exhaust gas flow. During the first few miles you may notice minor variations in power delivery, idle speed or throttle response: this is a normal and temporary behaviour. In the vast majority of cases, an ECU remap is not required.

Production times vary depending on the period and workload. Updated times are always shown at checkout, before order confirmation. Shipping tracking is sent automatically as soon as the parcel is handed over to the courier.

In the product list below you will find all available models for the 2026 R7. The differences between variants are mainly aesthetic: silencer shape, material and finish. The catalytic converter and No-Noise dB killer, where available, are selected in the product page drop-down menu. Open the model page you are interested in to see detailed photos, read the technical specifications and configure your exhaust system.
