Stripping off the fairing is never a neutral choice. With the FZ8, Yamaha decided to expose the 779cc inline four-cylinder without filters, betting everything on a direct connection between rider and engine. The die-cast aluminium diamond frame with the engine as a stressed member, the 43mm upside-down fork and the monobloc calipers inherited from the FZ1 build a sports-grade chassis in a naked format that proves effective both on tight winding roads and in everyday use. The stock muffler, compact and laterally positioned, has long been considered one of the bike's aesthetic weak points by many owners: something our sports exhausts address with a targeted upgrade. You can find the full range in the dedicated section for exhausts for Yamaha on our website.
The products in this category are sports exhausts designed to replace the original muffler on the FZ8. The work concerns the final silencer only: the original headers and the front section of the exhaust system remain in place. Fitting is carried out on the bike's original mounting points with no special adapters required, and each exhaust is supplied with a complete fitting kit. To ensure a proper seal and correct alignment, we recommend having the installation carried out by a qualified mechanic.
The weight saving over the stock muffler is tangible and noticeable across the whole bike. In terms of sound, the FZ8's four-cylinder — already full-voiced in standard form — gains a more defined and characterful note with a sports exhaust, with a richer tone at mid and high revs. On a naked bike, the change in acoustic character is particularly noticeable, with no fairing acting as a sound barrier between rider and engine. In terms of behaviour, a different management of exhaust gas flow can favour a more linear throttle response and, in certain riding conditions, a greater feeling of engine readiness.
Two sleeve lengths are available for this category: 285 mm and 400 mm. The difference is primarily aesthetic and relates to lateral bulk, allowing you to find the visual proportions that best suit your bike. Both versions of the sports exhausts share the same construction characteristics and the same lateral positioning.
We build every exhaust in our workshop with handcrafted manufacturing in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo. Each piece is made to order and goes through internal quality control before dispatch. We operate direct from the manufacturer, without intermediaries: a direct relationship that allows us to maintain consistent quality standards and give every order the attention it deserves.
Every sports exhaust is supplied with a standard dB killer included. Our exhausts are homologated for road use throughout Europe and Switzerland: the homologation certificate is included and is valid with the dB killer fitted. Removing the dB killer invalidates the product's homologation. For those who want to reduce the sound level further, the No-Noise option is available, with an internally welded filter that provides a perceptible reduction in decibels without significantly affecting the exhaust's overall behaviour. The selection is made directly on the product page.
As this involves replacing only the end can on a fuel-injected bike like the FZ8, no ECU remapping or modifications to the engine management are normally required. The engine management adapts to the new configuration without any particular electronic issues.
Updated production times are visible directly at checkout and may vary depending on the period. Once your order has been dispatched, you will automatically receive a tracking code to follow your parcel.
For any questions about fitting, compatibility or the differences between the available models, check our FAQ section or contact us via the Contact page or chat: we respond directly and without unnecessary delays.
Below you will find the product list available for the Yamaha FZ8. The differences between the various sports exhausts are primarily aesthetic: body shape, material and finish. On each product page you can select the sleeve length (285 mm or 400 mm) and, if desired, the No-Noise option. Visit the product page to view detailed photos, read the technical specifications and configure your exhaust.
