The Yamaha XJ6 naked is the most essential and direct version of the XJ6 family: no half-fairing, no touring comfort compromises, just the 600cc four-cylinder engine and an agile chassis that invites engaged riding. Compared to its Diversion sibling, the XJ6 in its naked version expresses a more sporting character in its aesthetics and a more immediate feel on the road, with a slightly more tucked riding position and a compact visual presence that does not go unnoticed. The inline four-cylinder, derived from the FZ6 architecture and reworked to prioritise torque at low-to-mid rpm, is the heart of a motorcycle that knows how to be fun without demanding constant effort. What we offer for the XJ6 2008-2015 is a full exhaust system, not a simple replacement silencer. The original exhaust is designed as a single unit with a 4-2-1 configuration: the four headers progressively converge towards a central silencer positioned under the frame, forming an inseparable assembly that does not allow the terminal alone to be replaced. For this reason our system covers the entire gas flow path, from the engine outlet to the terminal, respecting the original mounting points without requiring structural modifications. The mounting kit is included. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct and lasting fitment.
All models in this category are homologated for use on public roads throughout Europe and Switzerland: the homologation certificate is included in the package. It is important to note that, since the original exhaust on the XJ6 2008-2015 is fitted with a catalytic converter, the new exhaust must be purchased in the catalysed version to maintain full road compliance.
On the naked version, the benefits of a performance exhaust are felt in a particularly direct way: without the half-fairing that visually and acoustically softens the exhaust system, the weight saving and the change in sound character are more evident. The XJ6's four-cylinder already has a round and full-bodied voice in stock form; with the full exhaust system for the Yamaha XJ6 it gains a more open and defined sound, especially in the mid-to-high rev range, while maintaining the progressive character of the power delivery. Optimised flow management along the entire exhaust path can also contribute to a smoother throttle response and more linear progression throughout the rev range.
Every system is handcrafted in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo, made to order. This is not mass production: each component is machined and assembled in-house, with direct quality control at every stage. Direct from the manufacturer eliminates middlemen and results in a more transparent relationship both on the product and on after-sales support.
As this is a full exhaust system on a motorcycle fitted with a catalysed original exhaust, the original catalytic section is also replaced. The catalytic converter is available as an option in the drop-down menu on the product page. Choosing the catalysed version results in no fuelling issues or warning lights, although a brief ECU adaptation period to the new system is normal: during the first rides, minor variations in power delivery may occur, which will resolve themselves naturally. Those who opt for the non-catalysed version should consider that fuelling may not be optimal and that remapping the ECU will likely be necessary to get the best out of the system. The non-catalysed version is intended for track use or contexts where road compliance is not required, within the limits permitted by local regulations.
The dB killer is included as standard. It is not officially removable: its removal invalidates the homologation. For those who require further noise reduction, the No-Noise dB killer is available, featuring an internally welded filter that further reduces decibels without significantly affecting performance. This option is also selectable in the drop-down menu on the product page.
