In 2006 Yamaha completely redesigned the litre-class road platform, abandoning the steel tube frame of the FZS1000 and adopting a new diamond-type aluminium die-cast frame with the engine as a stressed member. The 998cc inline four-cylinder, derived this time from the 2004-2006 YZF-R1 and tuned to maximise mid-range torque, produced a bike capable of 150 hp with a power delivery manageable in everyday use. Available in the naked FZ1-N and half-faired FZ1-S Fazer versions, this generation accompanied the market for nearly a decade without major mechanical changes — a sign of a fundamentally sound project from the outset. For those looking to work on the exhaust of this platform, our sports exhausts offer a precise upgrade consistent with the character of the model. The full range is available in the dedicated section for exhausts for Yamaha on our website.
The products in this category are sports exhausts designed to replace the original muffler on the FZ1. The work concerns the final silencer only: the original headers and the front section of the exhaust system remain in place. Fitting is carried out on the bike's original mounting points with no special adapters required, and each exhaust is supplied with a complete fitting kit. To ensure a proper seal and correct alignment, we recommend having the installation carried out by a qualified mechanic.
The weight saving over the stock muffler is immediate and translates into a noticeable reduction across the whole bike. In terms of sound, the FZ1's four-cylinder — already naturally full-voiced — gains a more defined and present note with a sports exhaust, with a richer tone across the most commonly used rev range, between mid and high revs. The effect is noticeable in everyday riding without becoming excessive. In terms of behaviour, a different management of exhaust gas flow compared to the original can contribute to a more linear throttle response and a greater feeling of engine readiness in certain riding conditions.
Two sleeve lengths are available for this category: 285 mm and 400 mm. The difference is primarily aesthetic and relates to lateral bulk, allowing you to find the visual proportions that best suit your bike. Both versions of the sports exhausts share the same construction characteristics and the same lateral positioning.
We build every exhaust in our workshop with handcrafted manufacturing in Lombardy, in the province of Bergamo. Each piece is made to order and goes through internal quality control before dispatch. We operate direct from the manufacturer, without intermediaries: a direct relationship that allows us to maintain consistent quality standards and give every order the attention it requires.
Every sports exhaust is supplied with a standard dB killer included. Our exhausts are homologated for road use throughout Europe and Switzerland: the homologation certificate is included and is valid with the dB killer fitted. Removing the dB killer invalidates the product's homologation. For those who want to reduce the sound level further, the No-Noise option is available, with an internally welded filter that provides a perceptible reduction in decibels without significantly affecting the exhaust's overall behaviour. The selection is made directly on the product page.
As this involves replacing only the end can on a fuel-injected bike like the FZ1, no ECU remapping or modifications to the engine management are normally required. The engine management adapts to the new configuration without any particular electronic issues.
Updated production times are visible directly at checkout and may vary depending on the period. Once your order has been dispatched, you will automatically receive a tracking code to follow your parcel.
For any questions about fitting, compatibility or the differences between the available models, check our FAQ section or contact us via the Contact page or chat: we respond directly and without unnecessary delays.
Below you will find the product list available for the Yamaha FZ1. The differences between the various sports exhausts are primarily aesthetic: body shape, material and finish. On each product page you can select the sleeve length (285 mm or 400 mm) and, if desired, the No-Noise option. Visit the product page to view detailed photos, read the technical specifications and configure your exhaust.
