The silencers in this category are sports silencers designed to replace the single original lateral muffler on the V-Strom 1000, leaving the headers and the entire upstream section of the exhaust system unchanged. This is a single silencer in a lateral position, replicating the stock configuration and maintaining the same installation layout. This is not a full exhaust system: the connection is made directly to the original mounting points, with no structural modifications required to the rest of the exhaust. Each kit includes all the hardware needed for a clean and secure installation. We recommend having the work carried out by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct sealing and positioning.
The most immediate advantage is weight reduction: the sports silencer is significantly lighter than the standard muffler, with a direct effect on the overall mass of the motorcycle. As only the silencer is being replaced, the V-Strom 1000's ECU does not normally require any remapping: the engine management system handles the change without the need for specific electronic intervention. No modifications to sensors or existing control systems are required.
