The sports silencer we offer for the 1290 Super Duke R (2017-2020) is designed to replace the original muffler, leaving the factory headers and connections unchanged. This is not a full exhaust system: our work concerns exclusively the end can, the part you see, hear, and feel the weight of every time you get on the bike. Fitment uses the original mounting points, with an included fitting kit. We recommend installation by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct positioning and a proper seal.
The most immediate benefit is weight reduction compared to the stock muffler: the original 1290 end can is generous in both size and weight, and replacing it with a stainless steel or titanium silencer results in a noticeable reduction in unsprung rear mass. On the acoustic side, the tone becomes fuller and more defined, with a voice that better reflects the character of the LC8 V-twin — without exaggeration, but with a presence that is far more satisfying than stock. On the performance side, optimised flow management can favour a more linear throttle response and a feeling of greater responsiveness, particularly during spirited road riding.

Every exhaust end can is supplied as standard with a dB killer fitted. Removing the dB killer is technically possible but voids the product's homologation and makes road use illegal: we state this clearly because we believe buyers should know exactly what they are purchasing.
As this modification is limited to the end can, the motorcycle's ECU does not normally require any remapping. The fuel injection system can self-adapt to the new flow conditions without the need for forced remapping. No cause for concern: this is an aesthetic and acoustic upgrade with possible positive effects on overall performance, not an invasive modification to the exhaust system.
