Launched in 1998, the YZF-R6 changed the rules in the 600 supersport segment. The first bike in that displacement class to exceed 120hp, built around a 599cc inline four-cylinder with an aluminium Deltabox frame and race-derived geometry, it proved from the outset that a middleweight could reach the technical level of a full-scale sports machine. Over two decades of production the R6 went through deeply different generations: the first with Keihin carburettors and the unmistakable sound of high revs, the second with the switch to electronic fuel injection and the new Deltabox III frame, through to ride-by-wire and MotoGP-derived electronics. Each generation has its own following and its own character, but all share a precise identity: a machine built to go fast, with an exhaust that plays a direct role in that sonic and performance identity. The products in this category are sports exhausts designed to replace the original muffler on the R6. The work concerns the lateral end can only: the original headers and the front section of the exhaust system remain in place. Fitting is carried out on the bike's original mounting points with no special adapters required, and each exhaust is supplied with a complete fitting kit. The weight saving over the stock muffler is tangible and noticeable across the whole bike. In terms of sound, the R6 four-cylinder — already sharp-voiced and highly characterful across all its versions — gains a more open and defined note with a sports exhaust, with a richer tone at mid and high revs that suits the sporting nature of the bike perfectly. In terms of behaviour, a different management of exhaust gas flow can favour a more responsive throttle and, in certain riding conditions, a greater feeling of engine readiness.

Two sleeve lengths are available for this category: 285 mm and 400 mm. The difference is primarily aesthetic and relates to lateral bulk, allowing you to find the visual proportions that best suit your bike. Both versions share the same construction characteristics.

Every sports exhaust is supplied with a standard dB killer included. Our exhausts are homologated for road use throughout Europe and Switzerland: the homologation certificate is included and is valid with the dB killer fitted. Removing the dB killer invalidates the product's homologation. For those who want to reduce the sound level further, the No-Noise option is available, with an internally welded filter that provides a perceptible reduction in decibels without significantly affecting the exhaust's overall behaviour.
