Powergate 4 by Alientech: the technology behind the kit

Alientech is a benchmark name in ECU programming for cars, motorcycles and special vehicles, and the working standard for tuning professionals across Europe. The Powergate 4 is its latest generation: it runs from a smartphone through a dedicated app, with a vehicle list that keeps growing.

Developed specifically for Vespa

Vespa is fitted with the 278 cc four-valve single-cylinder (300 version, the most common in the range), which in stock form delivers 22 hp (15.8 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 22.3 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The kit only works on fuel-injected versions: the 250 from 2005, the 300 from 2008, the 125 and 150 from 2009. The earlier carburettor-fed versions have no ECU and cannot be remapped. The later range with the HPE engine (300 from 2019, 310 from 2025) uses a different ECU, which is not covered by this map. Please specify the exact displacement and year when submitting the original map.

What actually changes on the road

How it works: two separate stages

1. At the time of purchase: answering the 4 questions about the bike configuration (Exhaust, Catalytic converter, dB killer, Air filter) tells us which version of the map to prepare.

1. After the purchase, once the kit arrives, connect the tool to the diagnostic port and open the app
2. Read the original ECU map through the app: it stays saved for a future restore, at any time
3. Send the file to Roadsitalia
4. The racing map is developed for the model and the configuration indicated, and the file is sent by e-mail
5. Upload the file received through the app: the bike is ready

From that point on it is possible to switch between the available maps whenever needed, an unlimited number of times, and to return to the original map independently.
