The Z1000 2007-2009 features a configuration with twin silencers in lateral position, right and left. Our sports exhaust silencers are designed to replace both original mufflers, leaving the standard headers and connections unchanged. Mounting uses the motorcycle's original fittings without structural modifications, and the kit includes all the hardware necessary for the installation of both silencers. We recommend entrusting the fitting to a qualified mechanic to ensure a symmetrical and correct result on both sides.
For this application, a choice of silencer sleeve length is available: 285 mm or 400 mm. The 285 mm version is the more compact solution, with a contained visual presence and a profile that integrates cleanly with the motorcycle's lines on both sides. The 400 mm version has a greater internal volume and a more assertive aesthetic presence, with possible effects on the overall sound output of the pair of silencers. Replacing both original silencers produces a substantial overall weight reduction — two standard mufflers on a naked of this displacement represent a considerable weight. On the sound front, the Z1000 with twin sports exhausts gains a more defined and present tone, with a voice that suits the character of the four-cylinder well in this twin-outlet configuration. In terms of engine response, more efficient exhaust gas flow management across both outlets can contribute to a smoother power delivery and more direct throttle response under certain riding conditions.

Every silencer is supplied with a standard dB killer included in the kit. Removing the dB killer invalidates the product's homologation and is not officially supported. For those requiring greater noise containment — daily use, areas with sound restrictions, personal requirements — the No-Noise option is available: an internally welded filter that further reduces the sound level without significantly affecting the characteristics of the silencers. It can be selected on the product page alongside the sleeve length.
As this involves only the replacement of the silencers, the Z1000's ECU does not normally require any remapping. The original system remains in its standard configuration and the modification is sufficiently limited not to cause any electronic issues.
